The Ultimate Morning Skincare Routine

Every man needs a routine. If you’re into grooming, it’s not something that you do in an ad hoc fashion. For any effects to take place from grooming, a solid grooming routine must be in place.

Everyone will have their own routines. Implementing a steady morning and night routine is the best way to reap the benefits of any products or lifestyle.

Cleansing

First things first, make sure to wash your skin with some warm water. You should wash your face with warm water every morning to remove oil, dirt and dead skin cells. The T zone is the forehead and nose area, this is where most of the oil is produced. Apply a face wash and gently rub into the face in circular motions. Once done, rinse with cool water and pat dry. Don’t rub your face dry as stretching the skin can increase premature wrinkles!

Facial Scrub

Diminish built up dirt and excess oils from deep within the skins surface by exfoliating, detoxifying and cleansing the face. A good facial scrub will help to achieve all of these. Deep exfoliation will allow moisturiser to go deeper into your pores, making your skin look softer and youthful. Focus on areas where dead skin and build up occurs most (nose, forehead neck). After scrubbing gently by rubbing in circular motions, rinse with cool water and pat dry.

Moisturise

Moisturising daily is essential. It makes the skin nice and firm, prevents water loss and helps combat the aging process. Moisturising gives the skin nutrients and helps keep skin cells hydrated, so they can continue to look full, healthy and youthful. Remember not to overdo it though, or you’ll be defeating the object. Over moisturising can lead to your skin looking oily or greasy. Use a blob of moisturiser no bigger than a 5 pence piece and rub it in gently.

Eyes

Arguing with a calendar is foolish. Day by day we’re getting older. Some of us age gracefully and some of us don’t. To ensure you don’t succumb to age’s cruel effects, religiously apply a moisturising eye cream or serum every morning. Regular application will help to slow the visible signs of aging as well as fatigue.

Other Tips

Easy does it…

Remember, less is more. When using products on your face, don’t use too much and don’t go too rough! Facial creams need to be gently massaged into the skin in a circular motion for you to reap the benefits. Facial skin is sensitive, so don’t rub too vigorously!

Don’t use bar soap!

Whether it says it’s made up of natural ingredients or not, bar soap tends to be too harsh for the face. So, don’t do it!

Don’t overdo it

Over washing your face puts your skins oil glands into over drive creating excess oil. There is no need to wash your face more than twice a day (Morning and Night)

Work these simple steps into your morning routine and you should be able too see and feel the benefits soon after – but only if you stick to it!!!
